Okinawa’s Ginoza Village × Cameroon’s Baka Tribe × Haka × KURAGE Band × Yamamoto Noh Theater
Date and Time: Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 16:30–18:00
Venue: Inochi Park (within the Osaka-Kansai Expo site)
In resonance with the activities of Producer Sachiko Nakajima even before the Expo’s official opening, Yamamoto Noh Theater (Representative Director: Akihiro Yamamoto) presents the culmination of their collaborative journey with a new Noh production titled Noh of Life: "Jirin - The Circle of Time: Ever Turning”, created together with KURAGE Band and performed as a “Jellyfish Noh” at the heart of the Expo venue, “Inochi Park.”
This collaboration brings together Okinawa’s Ginoza Village, the Baka tribe of Cameroon, and the Māori of New Zealand in a cross-cultural performance. “Jirin” is a term from Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism that signifies the cycle of time. It expresses the energies of the world and humanity, and teaches the pursuit of their unity.
