Q: I’d like to see a Noh performance. When are they held?
A: Our main regular program is Tanimachi Noh, held in January, April, and September.
We also present a variety of special programs throughout the year, such as Tokui Noh (for beginners) and KAMIGATA Traditional Performing Arts Night.
Q: How can I purchase tickets?
A: For performances organized by Yamamoto Noh Theater, reservations can be made by email or phone.
For rental events hosted by other organizers, please contact the respective organizer directly.
Q: This will be my first time watching Noh. Is that okay? Is there a dress code?
A: At Yamamoto Noh Theater, we provide original program guides for Noh performances. We also offer beginner-friendly events with live commentary, such as Tokui Noh, making it easy and enjoyable even for first-time visitors. While a Noh theater may seem formal or intimidating, there is no dress code at all! Feel free to come in your regular, comfortable clothing.
Q: Are there services available for international guests?
A: Yes. We offer English program guides to help international guests enjoy the performance. For events such as Tokui Noh and Kamigata Traditional Performing Arts Night, English subtitles (alongside the original Japanese text) are projected on the wall beside the stage. Please note that not all performances include subtitles. For details, please contact us.
Q: From what age can children attend?
A: Age requirements vary depending on the performance, so please contact us for details.
We also offer fun, child-friendly performances and workshops during school holidays such as summer vacation.
Q: Is the theater accessible for wheelchair users?
A: Yes, we have designated seating where guests may remain in their wheelchairs, though availability is limited. If you plan to attend in a wheelchair, please contact us in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are also available.
Q: Is eating allowed inside the theater?
A: Yes, eating and drinking are allowed inside the theater. However, please be mindful of others when eating in the seating area.
Please note that there are no vending machines or food vendors inside the theater.
Q: Is smoking allowed?
A: Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire theater.
There are no designated smoking areas on the premises. Thank you for your understanding.
Q: Can I take a tour of the theater?
A: Yes, we offer guided tour and experience programs. These are available for individual groups, school trips, and corporate training sessions.

A: Yes, the stage is available for various uses such as recitals, concerts, exhibitions, and receptions.
Please note that there are specific guidelines for using the Noh stage, and depending on the nature of the event, we may not be able to accommodate all requests.
